A Broken Man

I know the truth.

My sorrow is genuine.

It consumes my mind.

It crushes my heart.

Life is not what I want it to be.

I am a broken man.

Nobody knows it but me.

And I hate it.

Characters are the main reason a wrestling promotion becomes memorable.

The characters in wrestling are supposed to have unique personas that grab different demographics.

For example, in the 1990s, Steve Austin became a big star for WWE. Austin became a superstar when segments of the audience connected to his hatred for authority figures.

Because of the Austin-McMahon feud, WWE reached new heights in popularity. The angle would eventually help the company put its competition out of business. WCW died in March 2001.

Unlike the Austin-McMahon feud, the angles of today lack notable characters with mass appeal.

Unfortunately, the inability to produce legendary superstars happens when the creative team and talent struggle to generate fresh ideas.

Without new ideas, the present characters don’t have a chance to grow.

In turn, the missed opportunities for character development create stagnation within a promotion.

Sadly, when inactivity hits more than one promotion, we get the current state of professional wrestling.

How depressing!

The Suicidal Man

I smile.
I act like I enjoy each day.
However, the pain is present.
It eats my heart.
I am fighting a battle.
I am not going to win.
I am ready to go.
Why do I feel this way?
I am depressed.
I am the suicidal man.

My Friend in Heaven

The memories remain.

The tears fall from my eyes.

The empty space does not fade.

Your gift is still present in my heart.

This gift is one of God’s greatest.

Friendship is the gift.

And I cherish it because of you.

May you continue to rest in heaven.

As a result of good memories and common sense, I am able to recognize some of the problems with WWE at the present time.

However, unlike Vince McMahon, I have the intestinal fortitude to address several problems ruining the current product. If you don’t believe me, read my thoughts below:

Some Problems with Modern Wrestling in WWE

• “Monday Night Raw” is an issue for the company. Because of the show’s length (3 hours), fans have to endure tons of filler content. In turn, fans get bored and do something else.
  
  
• Scripted promos stink. Wrestlers in WWE memorize a bunch of lines. This makes every character seem bland and unconnected to the wrestling audience.
  
  
• A lack of star power needs to be discussed. WWE has not created a big star since John Cena. And it shows. Fans don’t pop for the current wrestlers like those of the past. Unfortunately, when the older stars evoke more passion from the crowd, younger superstars get pushed to the side. By moving younger talent to the back of the line, WWE is not able to transition the product forward to another successful era.

If these problems persist, WWE will continue to lose fans in droves to something more entertaining.

However, WWE could stop fans from leaving the product by doing a simple thing!

WWE needs to start giving the fans what they desire.

Fans simply want a quality product filled with unique personalities and coherent story lines.

And I don’t think the request for a quality product should come as a surprise to WWE.

After all, WWE is supposed to be the best wrestling company in the world.

The Empty Space

This Holiday Season

The silence is deafening.

My eyes see an empty space.

A piece of my heart is broken.

The transition is a harsh reality.

This holiday season is different.

You are gone.

I am human.

And it hurts!
