The poem deals with loss and friendship. The issues matter because everybody deals with death at some point in life.
My Friend
I feel empty.
I feel lost.
I feel these emotions because of you.
You gave me the gift that I cherish.
You touched my heart through the gift of friendship.
Your gift has touched my heart for many years.
I think about you often.
I miss you.
Why?
You are in heaven, my friend!
